Before we get started with Google Tag Manager, let’s break down some important concepts that need to be understood first.
container
When you start using GTM, the first thing you need to do is create a container. Containers actually "hold" all the tags on your website.
GTM will provide you with some code to add to your website. Some CMS, such as WordPress, have plugins that implement container code, but you may need to contact the developer to add it. Once your container code is implemented, you will be able to add, edit, disable or remove your tags via GTM as needed.

Every tag on your website needs to serve a specific purpose. Maybe you want to trigger a tag when someone downloads a file or submits a form. These types of events are called triggers, and all tags need to be assigned at least one trigger. Otherwise, they won't do anything.
Triggers can be divided into two main components: events and filters. When you configure a trigger in GTM, you are given a long list of trigger types to choose from. These are your activities. Once you select an event, you can set filters.
